Chupa Rosa Mexican Imports
Georgetown, Texas

Built in 1894, the lovely historic building functioned as a Mercantile where everything from feed to real silk stockings could be had – and if you knew the owner, perhaps some “patent medicine.”  It's now home to Chupa Rosa Mexican Imports.

Visitors to the store will be welcomed with original black and white subway tile found in numerous entryways on the Square.  Ours spells out the words “The Fair,” a regional department store also in business on Main Street in Round Rock.

A lovely open mezzanine exposes what originally functioned as the air conditioning system of the day:  a 10 x 10 foot skylight.  The original pine wood floor, formerly concealed and fortunately well-preserved by three layers of linoleum and other flooring, now cover a full 2800 square feet of the store at street level.

Stop by and have a gander!
